Russia’s Black Sea Fleet received Project 19920 large hydrographic survey boat

The advanced Project 19920 BGK-2150 large hydrographic survey boat has joined Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, the Defense Ministry’s press office said. A flag-raising ceremony was held in Sevastopol in Crimea, the press office added.

The Project 19920 boat is the first advanced ship to join a group of special vessels of the Black Sea Fleet’s hydrographic service over the past several years, the press office said.
“The boat will operate as part of the Black Sea Fleet’s hydrographic survey expedition in the Black and Azov Seas,” the press office added. “The Project 19920 large hydrographic survey boat is designed to carry out hydrographic survey with the use of precision instruments, service land-based and floating navigation aids and transport military personnel and cargo to rough terrain,” the press office said. 
According to the press office, the BGK-2150 large hydrographic survey boat was built by the Vympel Shipyard in Rybinsk in central Russia. The boat underwent running trials in Sevastopol. This is the most advanced vessel among hydrographic survey boats. 
The Project 19920 large hydrographic survey boat has a displacement of 320 tons, a length of 36.44 meters, a width of 7.8 meters, a draught of 1.98 meters, a speed of 11.5 knots and a cruising capacity of 10 days. Its crew totals 12.
