Minsk. November 2. Interfax-AVN – Belarus signed in 2016 an agreement with Russia for more than 20 contracts for the supply and modernization of military equipment and several dozen agreements are negotiable, according to Defense Minister of Belarus Andrei Ravkov.
“Only in 2016, we signed more than 20 contracts for the supply and modernization of military equipment More dozens of contracts are under negotiation or development.”, – Said A.Ravkov on Wednesday at a meeting of the joint board of defense ministries of Russia and Belarus.
He noted that the supply of military products are made on favorable terms.
“I should note – the minister said, – cooperation in the military-technical sphere, which is dynamically developing Russia is our main partner in the supply of military products, as well as the repair and modernization of weapons and military equipment.”.
The Minister also noted that over the past 18 years in the military schools of the Russian Defence Ministry were trained in 1273 the Belarusian servicemen. “Currently, in the interests of our armed forces are trained 383 military personnel”, – said A.Ravkov.
According to him, there are many other areas of military cooperation, “which has achieved significant results, enabling it for many years to characterize the interaction of defense ministries as reference for the ministries and agencies of the Union State”.
According to him, today’s meeting of the joint board ‘will be another point of contact of the military departments on a number of issues of creating new and improving the existing security systems in the military sphere. ”
