Russian military base in Abkhazia has held more than 1,000 firing trainings this training year.
This number exceeds the results of last year by 10% because of increased number of surprise combat readiness inspections.
Combat firing was held at the Ghudauta, Nagvalou and Tsabal ranges in Abkhazia, and Molkino range in the Krasnodar Krai. The servicemen engaged different targets, which had imitated armored vehicles, helicopters and manpower of the enemy, at the distance of 100-2,000 meters. About 50% of trainings were held at nighttime.
Within 10 months, servicemen of the formation have been improving skills in firing armament of BTR-82AM, T-90A and T-72B3 tanks, Grad MLRS, D-30 122mm howitzers, and 122mm mortars.
